LONDON:Esomeprazole, commonly known as Nexium, is a drug designed to treat the symptoms of certain types of cancer, but it's unclear if it actually works.

Esomeprazole was initially developed to treat a condition where the stomach produces too much acid, and doctors believe it may help the body fight the cancer.

Esomeprazole was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in 1997, and is now the leading drug on the U. S. market.

But the drug has been linked to a serious side effect known as esophagitis, which affects people with stomach problems. It can be life-threatening if it doesn't go away without medical help, and experts say the drug may cause serious damage if used improperly.

Esomeprazole is prescribed to treat stomach and esophagus problems caused by acid-related conditions, such as ulcers and acid reflux, or those caused by a condition known as proton-pump inhibitors. Doctors say it may also be linked to an increased risk of developing stomach ulcers.

Dr. David Brennan, head of medical oncology at the University of Edinburgh, says the side effect is rare, but doctors believe it can be life-threatening, especially when it doesn't go away without medical help.

Dr Brennan says esomeprazole is generally safe, but doctors often wonder if it could have serious consequences for the body's ability to repair itself.

Esomeprazole is a prescription drug, and doctors often prescribe it for patients with stomach problems, esophagitis, and other conditions.

It can cause serious symptoms, including a high temperature and swollen stomach, and can also cause a severe allergic reaction, including a rash, swollen lymph nodes, and swollen glands.

The most common side effect is a rash, which can range from a mild rash to a severe headache.

Esomeprazole is usually taken once or twice a day, as directed by a doctor.

It's important to note that some side effects may go away without medical help, and doctors often prescribe it over-the-counter, although the drug can still be dangerous for people with certain medical conditions.

Dr Brennan says it's possible that people may become addicted to the drug, and he believes this could affect their ability to carry out everyday tasks, such as driving or operating machinery.

The drug is not approved for the treatment of cancer in the U. S., but doctors may recommend it for certain conditions, including:

Doctors may prescribe the drug to treat other types of cancer, such as cancer of the colon, lung, or liver, as well as certain types of heart or brain cancers, or some types of cancer, such as thyroid cancer.

Doctors may also prescribe it to treat other medical conditions, including:

Esomeprazole is generally not recommended to people with heart problems, such as heart failure or a heart attack. However, some doctors may prescribe it to treat other conditions, such as and diabetes.

Esomeprazole can also cause serious side effects, including:

One study found that taking it could be linked to a serious allergic reaction.

A serious side effect of the drug is a severe headache.

If you or a loved one is prescribed esomeprazole, or you take the drug in conjunction with other treatments, it's important to talk with your doctor about whether the treatment is right for you.

AstraZeneca has announced that the company will be launching a new version of its own heartburn drug called Nexium to replace a previously approved version in the US that has been found to cause gastrointestinal side effects.

The company said: "AstraZeneca has decided to launch a new version of Nexium, the first treatment to be developed to help patients return to the normal heartburn routine.

"The Nexium is the company's first and only non-prescription version of Nexium. It is available at a lower cost than Nexium, allowing customers to order it without having to pay for a doctor's prescription.

"The new Nexium is specifically designed to reduce the side effects of acid reflux and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, while providing patients with a lower-dose option for relief.

"This innovative new version of Nexium will provide patients with a lower-dose option for relief of acid reflux and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. Patients can order the drug for a lower price without the need for a prescription.

"We look forward to developing this new product launch with AstraZeneca, as the company continues to expand our portfolio of treatments for gastroesophageal reflux disease.

"We are thrilled to offer AstraZeneca a new and improved heartburn treatment called Nexium, which has been clinically proven to be more effective than Nexium, and to introduce it to consumers.

"We look forward to working closely with patients across the globe to develop new treatment options and ensure we offer a safe and effective treatment for GERD."

The company has a new drug programme called the Nexium trial, which will include a double-blind, placebo-controlled, trial to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Nexium in comparison to other treatments for GERD.

Nexium is an acid-reflux drug used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults and children aged two years and over. It is approved to treat the conditions associated with chronic acid reflux, such as heartburn and acid regurgitation. Patients can take Nexium for as long as prescribed.

Last year, AstraZeneca said it was launching a new version of its own heartburn drug, called Nexium ZENIUM to replace a previously approved version in the US that has been found to cause gastrointestinal side effects.

The new Nexium will be available in 20mg capsules, containing 2,000 mg of the drug and a small amount of liquid.

It is not yet known if the new Nexium will be more effective than the older version in reducing acid reflux and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease.

The company said it had received approval for the treatment of GERD in the US and Japan and is evaluating the results of clinical studies conducted in Japan and Europe to see whether the drug may be more effective.

ZENIUM is also used as an over-the-counter (OTC) treatment for reflux disease.

The company's Nexium is now available without a prescription in the US and Japan.

AstraZeneca said it is launching a new version of its own heartburn drug, Nexium ZENIUM, to replace a previously approved version in the US that has been found to cause gastrointestinal side effects.

"We are pleased to have received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for our new drug programme, the Nexium trial, which we are working to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of this new treatment option," said Dr Nino Vazquez, AstraZeneca's chief executive officer.
